Current Project

Okay.. Here is what I have been working on during the last two weeks that I have had off from school. This yarn was purchased by my mother while on a European Cruise. I think she said she got it in Gibralter, but I don't remember. Anyways...
Here is the front. I haven't started on it yet, because I just decided to do the back as it takes longer to do.

And here is the back. I am still working on the back. I have 23 or so inches done. I have to get to 27, then I make the neck. I am so excited to be making this!

Finito!

Okay Everyone! It's done! And just in time too. The sweater was finished on Wednesday, and the baby shower is on Sunday. My dad keeps telling me that he will give me money to buy the baby something, and for me to keep it for our little one (not pregnant yet). Anyways, I just wanted to share the progress! Yea!

Progress

Hi Everyone! Here's the progress that I have made so far on the sweater. The baby shower is on October 1, so I still feel like I need to get my butt in gear, even though I have acomplished quite a bit!

So the picture above is of the sweater and the one sleeve. I am making progress, but I feel as if it is slow going. That might have to do with the fact that I have been at work a lot, and when you factor in school and things like that.
So this picture above is a close up of the strawberries on the bottom of the sweater. Now, I only placed the buttons on it, and I am not going to sew them on until the whole thing is put together. The strawberries came out really nice. Not one is puckering up from the white. Yeah!

This is what the body of the sweater looks like. The deep grooves are actually the arm holes for the sweater. Its funny that it doesnt look like it until you fold it up to make it look like how it is supposed to be.

New WIP and Drinking

Okay.. so I have a new WIP. I just found out that one of my hubby's cousin's is pregnant. Yea! Now we also have another cousin who is also pregnant. Well, I cant buy any more yarn until the credit card is paid off, so I've got pink Woolease that I am knitting with. I have decided to make a baby blanket. Now, what are the odds that between the two mommies to be, they would have boys? Only time will tell. So, Baby A is due in November. Ahh.. another scorpio like me... hmm.. Anyways, Baby B is due in February. So now I have started this baby blanket and I dont know who to make it for. Now, ideally I would say that this shouldn't take me all that long to make, so why not make it for Baby A. But then, knowing my ADD and all, I would say make it for Baby B. But what if Baby A and Baby B are boys.. I have now made a pink blankie for a baby that would only spit up on it, not really know how much time and love went into it, and whom we would look at the pink blankie, and think...."What a pretty girl.. What? Your baby's a boy? Well, I hope he's gay then.".. Good Lord.. Is 5 in the evening too early for a drink?

Okay.. so I FINALLY bought "The Yarn Harlot". I could've borrowed it from my mother, but she's too far away.. Anyways. I have just finished the first chapter, where she talkes about the green monster. I had a monster, but it was/isnt green. Its the blue car coat Im trying to do. I think.. today I'll work on it. Of course then I see something else I'd rather do.. Baby blankie.. Scarves that havent come to pattern.. read.. yard work.. childbirth.. I really could go on,.. Anyways. I have so far read the first "story" in the book and truly enjoy it. I can SO relate to this chick.. I wonder if Im not truly an only child.. MOM???

WIP

This is clearly my attempt at this project. What is shown is the longer version. I am attempting the shorter version. I have to knit for 15 inches which is where I can start to decrease for the arm holes. I am at about 12 inches, so 3 more to go. WooHoo! I have quickly lost steam on this, but thats where other WIPs come in and so yea. I dont feel so bad. Oh yeah.. the pattern says to knit the back and then the 2 sides.. well I am saving my self some trouble and am knitting it all in one.

WIP

So this is my current project. I am trying to make this car coat from the booklet "Today's Knit Fashions". I dont know how to rotate the picture so thats one reason for all of us to use our neck muscles, right?

Okay, so the photo is kinda blurry. But you still get the idea. I made this with WoolEase T&Q. It is a "car coat". I completed it in 2 weeks, while my parents were on ANOTHER cruise upon which I didnt get to go.. Bitter much.. Umm.. Let me think about that.

Anyways, I completed this in 2 weeks and I dont wear it. Figures. It is nice, but not "durable" for heavy "public" wear.

I thought I'd add a picture of something that I have completed so that Everyone would know that I do actually know how to complete something! Look... Proof!

Yea!

Okay, so I'm not completely a tard. I actually was able to add links successfully to the links section! Yea!

A New Project

So I decided that I would knit a baby blanket with the "crap" yarn that I have. I have to use it up before my husband and I will let myself buy more yarn. Our house is just tooooo small for me to fall into my old habits. (wink)

So I knitted up the blanket and of course, screwed up. I then ripped it up and am thinking of starting over. I am not sure though. I could make a ton of scarves though. I have like 18 balls of the stuff. I guess I could get some christmas gifts made and out of the way.

On to more exciting knitting news. I have decided to join this mystery shawl knitting group on Yahoo. I actually lucked out and have enough yarn from the stupid candleflame shawl I was trying to make. It doesnt start until July 7th, and I dont know what I am going to do until then. With this group, you get the pattern is spurts. Thats why its a mystery shawl.

Happy Knitting Everyone!
So, this entry will be short and sweet. I messed up on the shawl again.. so whats new? I ripped it up and decided that .. screw it. I am just going to make up my own pattern with that yarn. I did a row of my sweater and got bored. I have years worth of woolease in pink, so I am thinking of starting a baby blanket... We still dont know the sex of the baby our cousin is having. I guess I could work on it and if its a girl, give it to her. If not, at least I've occupied my brain. A girl in my knitting club is making fingerless gloves. That sounds interesting. I might want to try that some day.

Arrgghh!

More shawl issues

Okay. This pattern is a piece of shit. I have already re-started this thing twice. Now I have dropped a stitch about 10 or so rows. I am considering scraping this whole damn pattern. I may create my own.. This is so frustrating!

My mother and I are to go to the knitting group tonight at Starbucks. I hope that I can get this thing under control by then! Damnit!

No Pics

I currently do not have any pictures of the things I am working on. This is because my memory card took a quick trip to the dumper a few weeks ago. I am not sure if I want to buy a new card or if I just want to get a whole new camera all together. But anyways... Happy knitting!

Aggravation

Okay. I have been trying to knit the candle flame shawl seen here:

http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/Projects_Display_Yarn.aspx?itemid=50465220&yarnid=5420112

It was going well, until I got to the 16th row. I realized that I didnt have the same amount of stitches as whats on the pattern. So, I have decided to rip it up and start anew. I was thinking of adding an extra border to it, so that maybe I wont get "lost". I guess part of the problem was that I put it down mid-row. I dont know. It is just so aggravating to experience something like that.

My mother and I are going to a Meet-up group tomorrow night. We meet fellow kntiters at a designated area and knit, talk, and Im not sure what else since this will be our first meeting. I havent yet decided if Im going to take the shawl with me or if Im going to take my sweater with me. I am knitting a barn jacket. I am 4 inches to go until I decrease for the arm holes. I got the yarn from Kntipicks. I love the yarn they sell. Its just beautiful and the quality is good. Its pretty affordable considering that you get good yarn for a good price as opposed to the crap yarn for a cheap price.
